Over 2024 and 2025 I worked on First Light Games on the game Blast Royale, a topdown dual stick shooter battle royale for mobile.
During this period I was designed to made the player skins and weapons, but in a moment close to the end of the project we planned to redesign the level map. and I tried a new art style. all models are made with just vertex colors and I tried to go without light / lightmap.
But it never entered in the game, and months later the game was shut down.
The skybox was to use this models as scenario to make some animations for marketing the game.
I created some Geometry Nodes to bake the colors of a texture to the vertex colors. and in the next project on First Light I expanded this Geometry Nodes to make much more with vertex colors.
